Helllloooooo Looovverrrr

After catching a sneak peak & early glimpse yesterday evening of the Sex and the City movie, I have to gush over Carrie’s apartment Just as I thought her apartment was the ultimate & could not even begin to imagine it getting any better–it did! She finally hired a designer (yay!) and turned her once electic new york city apartment into a bold and ravishing interior Even though I wasn’t so crazy over the bedding choice, the electric blue walls, built in silver coated cabinets, wall mounted plasma and oh so fabulous seating area upholstered in amazing prints had me drooling It will take me a while to find it, I’m sure, but if anyone knows who made or comissioned the LOVE piece by her door, I am dying to know!

Carrie’s old place:

This apartment was great, but her newly designed one is wayyyyy better, more sophisticated, chic, and put to gether (clearly the works of us marvelous designers ;) )

taahhh dahhhh:

(The frames above the bed as always been a fav of mine, hence why my headboard looks about the same)

So much cleaner and fresher, don’t you think?  I can’t wait to get my hands on images from the sitting room!

Headless Until Now

So I finally took the time & little effort to put together a new header for this blog (about time!). It was between the current one, or this one, in which I put together some Merimekko prints for the background image. I chose to use the current one because it is more me, this one just isn’t as effective & doesn’t suit me as well…..butttttttt I couldn’t leave it out :) So here’s the one that missed out on all of the fun. I chose wisely, right?

Doodle for Google: Construction Details

Yay! Children design logos for Google’s homepage & whatta’ ya know, one has the eye for the Design :)

(Construction Document looks awesome)

Looks a lot like Childerella’s castle, if I say so myself :) Even though there are a ton of creative ones to choose from, I voted for them, duh.

I also love the K-3 Region 2  & the K-3 Region 3 one just cracks me up.

Inspired Shopping

Today  while in serious search of a cute, classy, unbearably sexy sundress (do they make those?) for Marshall’s graduation (less than a week!) I ran across some packaging that made me stop in my tracks.  I am not an Old Navy regular, but after Anthropologie, Saks, F21, Nordstrom’s, Banana Republic, BCBG and the old faithful TJ MAXX served up a whole lotta nothin’ of what I was looking for, I figured I would run into Old Navy and give them a try.  To my dissatisfaction, they too, had nothing of what I was looking for(other than some surprisingly cute bikinis/cover ups), however they did have some things I was not looking for.  They had a wall of jewelry that was as close to fantastic as $9.50 jewelry can get, all packaged with images of various photographs of Hawaii.  Ohhh, Old Navy how COULD you remind me of my first travel love right now?  The packaging was the typical jewelry get-up, but each photograph was rich and colorful with palm trees silhouetted against dark turquoise skies and details of white stucco homes with Mediterranean style landscaping.  Ugh, I loved it.  So much, in fact, that not only did it remind me how much I used to want to move to Hawaii for another, more long term ”adventure”, but it also inspired some photographs (not yet taken).  Not to mention it made me practically buy up the whole rack of jewelry, more of what they were going for in their marketing, I’m sure.  Whatever the case may be, it worked like a charm.  So I may not have a graduation dress just yet (I’m thinking on some at BCBG), I have all the accessories for it :)   (I’ll include a snapshot of the packaging later)

I’m a sucker for package design goodness:  TheDieline

(Clearly I don’t do this sorta stuff, but I have a strong appreciation for it, as goes for all aspects of designzzzz, so props to the peeps who do! (meaning some of my favorite friends :)   )).

Addict

I am currently Flickr obsessed and can’t wriggle my little fingers away from clicking my mouse to the next photo just one. more. time.  I just impulsively bought the 50mm I have been lusting over today and have been scouring my favorite flickr contacts for inspiration  I have found plenty & now just can’t seem to manage to wait until tomorrow evening to capture that “great light” everyone is gushing over!  I wanna get in on the fun!  I am currently in the process of taking this “time off” to teach myself everything I can possibly comprehend about my camera, my new lens & photography/light (I’m not as good with workin’ the light magic as I would like to be) so that is my new mission, along with the continued search for a job–not just any new, non-freelance job, but the PERFECT (somewhat temporary until the ID market opens up better) job  (like a Rep or something–that would be a great starting point).  So in between flipping over at the pool and skimming gossip mags & the pages of my new summer read “Bergdorf Blondes”, soaked in maui babe & hand making some super cute official graduation announcements, finalizing the super temp portfolio website, and mailing off resume & sample works packages to employers, I will be searching the streets for new amazing photo opts to help “revolutionize” the way I look through my lens–mostly though, the flipping  by the pool part ;)   But in order to do all of THAT, I have to get off of FLICKR!
